More About Dr Wong

After graduating from the University of Adelaide in 2005, Dr Wong commenced his paediatric training in 2007, subspecialising in Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine. In 2011, he moved to Melbourne, where he was Respiratory Fellow at the Royal Children’s Hospital. There he became an active contributor to research activities at the world-renowned Australian Respiratory Early Surveillance Team for Cystic Fibrosis (AREST-CF) program while completing his PhD at the University of Melbourne. In 2013, Dr Wong and his family returned to Adelaide where he would later receive his Fellowship in Paediatrics, subspecialising in Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

How the Kids’ Sleep Study Clinic Commenced

When Dr Wong moved back to Adelaide with his family in 2013, there were very limited sleep study services available for children, leading to significant waiting times for these services. With the support of his colleagues, Dr Wong began to explore the possibility of starting a private paediatric sleep clinic in Adelaide. Unlike sleep studies performed on adult patients, paediatric sleep studies must be conducted in a hospital environment and cannot be performed in the patient’s home. As a result, Dr Wong opened the only private paediatric sleep laboratory in South Australia at the Memorial Hospital. Respiratory and Sleep for Kids opened to the community at The Memorial Hospital in July 2015. Today, the clinic continues to provide high quality, professional and efficient service exclusively to children (0-17 years) with respiratory or sleep issues.

Dr Wong has three young children which keep him busy and is he is also a supporter of Liverpool FC.
