Meet Dr Matthew Bruorton

Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Dr Matthew Bruorton studied Medicine at the University of Adelaide, then continued on to complete his Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep training across metropolitan Adelaide at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre. He is currently undertaking a PhD investigating a new form of lung imaging (X-ray Velocimetry) in Paediatric cohorts. He has interests across Paediatric Respiratory and Sleep Medicine, particularly chronic cough, asthma and sleep apnoea.

More about Dr Bruorton

Dr Bruorton is originally from South Africa, but grew up predominantly in Mount Gambier in country South Australia. He has a young family and is well acquainted with personal as well as professional experience of frequent respiratory tract infections.

Outside of work Dr Bruorton enjoys being active and continues to play sport socially as well as try maintain some level of fitness with running. He enjoys watching cricket and AFL as an Adelaide Crows supporter.
